GUIDELINES
BACKGROUND
The Australasian Council of Deans of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (DASSH) is a sponsor of the inaugural BA conference. As part of that sponsorship, DASSH is offering five travel grants of up to $500 per applicant to support the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) community to attend the BA conference held in St Lucia, Brisbane, September 25th and 26th, 2017. Awards will be payable in Australian Dollars and are to be used to support travel, accommodation or subsistence of the successful applicant.
ELIGIBILITY
The travel grants are open to staff and students from DASSH member institutions.

Applicants for a travel grant must complete the Application Form.

Applications should be received by the BA Conference convener by 5pm on 15 September. Applications to be sent to [email protected] with the subject line 'DASSH Travel grant application’
SELECTION PROCESS
Applications will be assessed by the BA Conference committee. Applicants will be selected on the basis of demonstrated need and the quality of the application. Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified as soon as possible so that all applicants can make arrangements to attend.

Applicants must
- indicate that they are able to attend the full conference;
- have been accepted to present a paper at the BA conference (including showcase presentations, posters, round tables, workshops or similar);
- be willing to make a contribution to the HASS Futures program or other HASS Futures publication if asked; and
- be able to demonstrate financial hardship (e.g. student, geographical location, no institutional support or other personal circumstances).
